35W×K7 - 16 rotary drilling rigs
The following is an introduction to the compacted strand wire rope 35W×K7:
Structural Characteristics
● Strand Composition: "35W×K7" indicates that the wire rope consists of 35 strands, with 7 wires in each strand. "W" represents the Warrington structure, where the wires are arranged in a combination of different thicknesses. "K" indicates that it adopts the compacted strand, which is generally cold-drawn with a compression rate of 10%.
● Twisting Method: It usually adopts the method of twisting the inner and outer strands in opposite directions. During production, the inner layer is twisted first, and then the outer layer is twisted.
Performance Characteristics
● Good Anti-rotation Performance: The opposite twisting directions of the inner and outer layers can effectively counteract the rotational force, making the wire rope less prone to rotation during use.
● High Breaking Force: Compared with ordinary wire ropes, the compacted strand process and the combination of different wire thicknesses result in a higher metal filling coefficient, leading to a greater breaking force.
● Strong Wear Resistance: The gaps between the wires are small, and the surface is smooth. It has a large contact area with pulleys or drums, and its wear resistance is higher than that of ordinary wire ropes.
● High Structural Stability: After being compacted, the wires in the strands are arranged more closely, resulting in a stable structure that is less likely to deform under external forces.
Specification Dimensions
Common diameter specifications include 14mm, 16mm, 18mm, 20mm, 26mm, 32mm, 36mm, 46mm, etc.
Application Scenarios
It is widely used in rotary drilling rigs, rubber-tyred gantry cranes, port machinery, truck cranes under 80 tons, crawler cranes and other lifting equipment.
Material and Strength
High-quality carbon steel or alloy steel is usually used to manufacture the 35W×K7 compacted strand wire rope, and the strength is generally 1960MPa, 2160MPa, etc.
